PITTSBURG, Kan. — On Tuesday, May 26, 50-year-old Damien Yarbrough, of Pittsburg, was convicted of rape and aggravated criminal sodomy, according to the Crawford County Attorney’s Office.
Yarbrough was arrested on August 23, 2025, at Americas Best Value Inn, located at 3108 N Broadway Street, following a report of sexual assault. An adult reported that Yarbrough forced the juvenile victim into his motel room and sexually assaulted her.
Yarbrough was initially charged with rape, aggravated criminal sodomy and aggravated kidnapping. On Tuesday, Yarbrough pleaded “no contest” to the rape and aggravated criminal sodomy, according to court documents. The kidnapping charge will be dismissed during sentencing, which will take place on July 20.
Yarbrough is being held without bond at Crawford County Jail.
