Third-seeded St. Mary's Colgan baseball scored two runs in the first inning, 10 in the second and three in the third on the way to a 15-0 run-rule win in three innings Thursday against Oswego in a Class 2-1A regional quarterfinal at historic Jaycee Ballpark.
Lane Stultz's two-run triple, Brady Crossland's two-run single, Brady Bettega's two-run single and Jayden Brown's two-run double contributed to the Panthers' huge inning.
Brady Badart's RBI double opened and Bettega's RBI double closed out the scoring.
Gabe Brown earned the win and he allowed no runs on no hits with six strikeouts and two walks over 2 2/3 innings. Brady Crossland came on and picked up the final out.
The Panthers improved to 15-7 on the season and the defending 2-1A state champions will face No. 6 Udall (9-12) in a semifinal at 2 p.m. next Tuesday in Cherokee. No. 2 Southeast (19-4) and No. 7 Sedan (8-13) follow in the other semifinal.
