‘Saturday in the Park’
OK Kids Day returns to Lakeside
From archery to canoeing, hundreds of kids and their parents gathered at Lakeside Park Saturday morning and through the afternoon to take part in the annual OK Kids Day, also known as Outdoor Kansas for Kids. The free, statewide initiative is designed to promote an active lifestyle. It marked its 25th anniversary this year, featuring a wide array of activities for attendees such as tennis court games, sensory play, hiking, fishing, and crafting. Pittsburg Parks and Recreation hosted the event with Pittsburg State University recreation students volunteering and planning the events. - photo by Aaron Pyle
