PITTSBURG, Kan. — Last week, the Pittsburg Police Department experienced an increase in calls for service, while the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office experienced a decrease compared to the week prior.
From June 1 to 7, the Pittsburg PD responded to 345 calls for service, a three percent increase from the previous week. Police also conducted 57 traffic stops, a 34 percent decrease from the week prior. The department also engaged in 183 officer self-initiated activities, made 17 arrests and took 51 reports.
From May 31 to June 6, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office responded to 267 calls for service, a 9 percent decrease from the week prior. Deputies also conducted 129 traffic stops, arrested three individuals, assisted 34 motorists or community members and took 24 reports.
From June 1 to 7, the Pittsburg Fire Department responded to a total of 39 calls for service. Of those 39 calls, 28 were medical-related, 10 were fire-related and one call was a motor vehicle accident.
