Shirley B. Hawkins, 90, of Pittsburg, died Monday June 8, 2026, at her home.
She was born Dec. 30, 1935, in Chicopee, KS the daughter of James and Lucille Absher Machetta. She returned to Pittsburg to make her home in 1995.
She married Richard A. Hawkins and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hawkins worked in customer service and as a bookkeeper at Ron’s Market in Pittsburg for several years prior to her retirement.
She was of the Christian Faith and was past president of the Elks Lodge in Pittsburg, KS.
Survivors include one brother James A. Marchetta and his wife Janet of San Antonio, Texas and a niece Deborah Tidwell and her husband Bruce of Edmond, Oklahoma, a nephew Rex Sparks and his wife Debra of Yukon, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters Sandra Sparks and Joyce June Machetta.
Mrs. Hawkins will be cremated with burial in the National Cemetery in Ft. Scott, KS at a later date. Arrangements are by the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway in Pittsburg, KS. Condolences may be left at our website www.bathnaylor.com.
