Viking softball nabs four all-league selections

Northeast softball went unbeaten in Three Rivers League play this past season and the Vikings were rewarded for their success with four all-league selections, including three first team.

Northeast junior Erin Doubledee was one of four unanimous selections to the first team, along with Uniontown freshman Kinsley Harris, Oswego sophomore Jaycee Schulz and Crest senior Kaelin Nilges.

Viking seniors Destiny Hagan and Ciara Neville joined Doubledee on the first team.

Junior catcher Delaney Lusker was the Vikings’ lone honorable mention.

The Vikings finished their season 21-6 overall and 16-0 TRL, and their season with a loss in a Class 2-1A regional final against Dexter/Cedar Vale.

Northeast swept both 2-1A state qualifiers Uniontown (14-2 TRL) and Central Heights (10-4 TRL) during the regular season. Uniontown finished third place at state.

Southeast senior Braelyn Sutton received the Lancers’ only nod with a first-team selection.
