Southeast baseball earned a share of the Three Rivers League title this past season and the Lancers were fairly compensated with five all-league selections, including four on the first team.
Southeast finished 18-0 in TRL play and sophomores Gannon Hobbs and Carter Buzard and juniors Tyler Warner and Solomon Scott represented the Lancers on the first team. Garrett Burger closed out his high school career with a honorable mention.
Hobbs was the Lancers’ lone unanimous selection and the others were Central Heights’ Kreig Garrett, Marmaton Valley’s Garrett Morrison and Tyler Lord and Crest’s Drake Weir.
The Lancers finished their season 20-5 overall with a loss in the Class 2-1A regional semifinals against Sedan. Southeast played well enough during the regular season to earn the right to be a regional host.
Northeast sophomore Jaxson Payne was the Vikings’ lone selection with a first team. The Vikings finished their first season under head coach Matt Cashero 7-16 and 7-13 TRL.
Marmaton Valley (20-6, 16-3) was the league’s lone baseball state qualifier. Central Heights also finished league play unbeaten at 16-0; Central Heights and Southeast did not play because their scheduled doubleheader was rained out.
