Jake Murphy's seventh-inning triple earned Frontenac baseball a thrilling 7-6 walk-off win Monday against visiting Fort Scott at Mike Falletti Field.

Jake Wegner led off the seventh with a single to center against Fort Scott pitcher Tyler Anderson. The Raiders substituted Wegner for pinch runner Crew Lemert and Murphy lined a 3-2 pitch from Anderson into right field, scoring Lemert for the victory.

Murphy earned the win in relief and he allowed no runs on no hits with four strikeouts and two walks over 2 1/3 innings. Grant Nickle started off for the Raiders and he allowed two runs on three hits with one strikeout and no walks in the first inning.

Wegner led Frontenac with two hits and Jaxon Varsolona drove in two runs without a hit and three walks. Brock Wiemers, Jack Spear, Gage James, Wegner, Lemert and Murphy each scored one run.

Frontenac helped overcome collecting only four hits by working 10 walks against the Tigers, including nine against Anderson. Anderson struck out five and walked nine over 4 1/3 innings.

The Raiders finish the regular season 14-4. They return home Wednesday for a Class 3A sub-regional contest against No. 15-seeded Prairie View (7-12); Frontenac and Prairie View have their first pitch at 5 p.m.
