Pittsburg baseball improved to 9-12 overall and finished Southeast Kansas League play 8-4 with a 6-0 win Tuesday against host Labette County.
Alex Hinspeter earned the win and he allowed no runs on four hits with eight strikeouts and four walks over six innings. Landen Proffitt pitched a scoreless seventh inning with no hits allowed and one strikeout and three walks.
Beck Fern led the Purple Dragons with two hits and Kash O'Brien and Max Busch each drove in two runs. O'Brien, Cole Hayden, Fern, Hinspeter and Proffitt each scored a run and Jason Owens and Proffitt each drove in a run. Fern had the game's lone extra-base hit with a double.
Labette County's four hits were all singles and the Grizzlies were also not able to capitalize upon seven walks.
Pittsburg closed out regular-season play at home Wednesday night against Nevada, Mo.
