The Kansas Golf Coaches Association recently announced its boys all-state teams for the six classifications and St. Mary’s Colgan senior Jamie Hamilton earned honorable mention in Class 2A.
Hamilton tied for ninth at state with a two-round score of 15-over-par 159 (78-81) on the Quail Ridge Golf Course in Winfield. The Panthers were eighth after the first day and failed to make the cut for the second; teammates Jack Krusich and Max Imhof also played the second day and Krusich finished 13th at 161 (81-80) and Imhof 26th at 171 (85-86).
Hamilton also tied for 10th at regional, tied for fourth at Schifferdecker, won third at Columbus, tied for ninth at Girard, tied for third at his home tournament, tied for eighth at Fort Scott and finished a season-best second at Baxter Springs.
Baxter Springs sophomore Cole Parrish earned second team in 3A.
Drew Krystyn from 6A Blue Valley North, Cohen Museousky from 5A Goddard, Regan Kueker from 4A Wamego, Landon Langston from 3A Wichita Collegiate, Connor Newman from 2A Humboldt and Gavin Wahl from 1A South Gray won individual state championships.
