GIRARD, Kan. — Several persons have been arrested following a search warrant that led to the seizure of illegal drugs, according to the Girard Police Department.
According to a release, officers with the Girard Police Department executed a residential search warrant, Wednesday morning, at a residence in the 200 block of North Osage Street as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
Upon execution of the search, officers located and seized suspected marijuana, methamphetamine, and other drug paraphernalia in the residence, leading to several individuals being detained at the scene. Two of the individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants issued by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office along with Girard Municipal Court.
“Kansas law continues to prohibit the possession, distribution, and cultivation of marijuana. Marijuana remains classified as an illegal controlled substance under Kansas law,” said the release. “The Girard Police Department remains committed to addressing illegal narcotics activity and responding to community concerns regarding drug related crime and neighborhood safety.”
