GIRARD, Kan. — The county commissioners held back-to-back meetings on Tuesday, starting with a budget work session at 9 a.m. and continuing into regular session at 10.
During much of the work session, the commissioners went through the budget one last time, double-checking those line items that have changed, either positive or negative. County Counselor Jim Emerson said he expects a carry-over of $700,000 into 2027 but added that amount may vary slightly as outstanding invoices come in.
