Sharon B. Fisher, 85, of rural Girard passed away on Sept. 11, 2026. She was born on Oct. 26, 1940, in Townsend, Wisconsin, to Norbert Flynn Sr. and Bernice M. (Statler) Flynn. She graduated from Wabeno High School and, after graduating, enlisted in the Marine Corps. She was stationed at Camp LeJune in North Carolina. While in the service, she met Thomas A. Leftwich, whom she later married on Dec. 18, 1959. From this former union, they had two daughters, Catherine Kinkaid, formally of Pittsburg, and Carolyn (and Robert) Zagonel of rural Girard. Sharon took an active role in her daughters’ lives by serving as a Rainbow Mother Advisor in the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls and as a Girl Scout leader. She later remarried Carl H. Fisher, of rural Girard, on Dec. 30, 1972. He preceded her in death in 2019.

Sharon worked at the Census Bureau in Pittsburg and later retired after 50 years at the Crawford County Abstract Office in Girard. Growing up just north of Green Bay, Wisconsin, she was a proud Green Bay Packers fan and loved to watch them play football. The Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs were her favorite teams. While watching football, she would make dozens of French cookies to give to family and friends. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, keeping everyone warm with her many knitted gifts. She made hats, lap blankets, socks, slippers, gloves, and many more items, which you could find for sale at her daughter’s restaurant every winter. Sharon also belonged to a group of ladies from the area that made knitted lapgans for people in the rest homes as Christmas gifts. She was also a long-time member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, her parents, her brother Thomas Flynn, her infant sister Nancy Flynn, and her daughter Cathy Kincaid.

Other survivors include: granddaughter Jessica Schrieber and three great-grandchildren, Micah, Karter, and Silas, all of Phoenix, Arizona; grandson Jonathon (and Hannah) Mogle and three great-grandchildren, Elijah, Hudson, and Birdie, of Johnstown, Colorado; Grandson Aaron (and April) Zagonel and two great-grandchildren, Allison and Aubrey, of rural Girard; and granddaughter Anissa (and Aaron) Mattox and one great-grandchild, Owen, of rural Walnut. She also had many nieces and nephews with whom she was close with who survived her in the Wisconsin area where she grew up.

An Eastern Star Service will be conducted at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, and a visitation for friends and family will follow from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Smith Carson Wall Funeral Home in Girard.
