Marsha Kay Horton, 80, of Girard, died at 10:41 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026, in Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Marsha was born August 14, 1946, in Columbus, Kansas, a daughter of David Collins, Jr. and Elaine Joyce Camerer. She grew up and attended schools in Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School in May of 1965.

Marsha married Gary Keith Horton on April 25, 1967, in Miami, Oklahoma and Gary preceded her in death on May 29, 2023.

Marsha was a member of the First Christian Church in Girard and Farm Bureau.

Marsha was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her family, her church, and the Senior Citizens Beach Club of Girard. She was an avid fan of KU, K-State, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals.

Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Jergens, and her husband, Brian, of San Antonio, Texas and her son, Gary K. Horton of Girard. 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, her sister, Joyce Conklin, and her husband, Dale, of Wills Point, Texas, and her brother, Ed Beeman, and his wife, Kathy, of Lenexa, Kansas.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gary, a daughter, Joyce Horton, on Feb. 28, 2013, her sister, Vicki Gideon, and her brothers, G.D. Collins and Dale Collins.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, at the Girard Cemetery with Reverend Renee Goodwin officiating. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church and these may be left at the service or the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743.
