Three was the lucky number for Jarrett Lawson as Baxter Springs defeated Southeast 12-0 in five innings Thursday afternoon in a nonconference baseball game in Cherokee.
Lawson was the winning pitcher, allowing three hits while striking out five and walking one.
At the plate, Lawson collected three hits, three runs batted in and scored three runs. He delivered run-scoring singles in the first and third innings and a sacrifice fly in the fourth.
Riley Daniel and Braydon Wade each added two hits for the Lions (13-8).
Zayne Gabern hit a double and Tyler Warner and Garrett Burger each had a single for the Lancers (18-3).
Southeast starter Carter Buzard fanned five and walked one in three inningts, and Gannon Hobbs walked two and struck out three in the last two innings.
