The SEKR tunnel will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for drop-off of recyclables.

AFG: Make Ceramic Story Beads, Part 2 w/Paula Blincoe

12 to 2 p.m.; $45 fee; Ages 12+; 8 seats — This "Story Beads" workshop is perfect for creating a unique Mother's Day gift. This is a two-part class, so please plan to attend both sessions when you register!
- Part 2: After the beads have been fired, you will use acrylic markers to add colorful designs or stories. We will then string the beads on leather and add a clasp to finish your piece. All materials and firing are included.

AFG: Oh, the Places You'll Go w/Debbie Southard

2 to 4 p.m.; $35 fee; Ages 9+; 12 seats — As we do the neurographic geographic work we will contemplate and meditate on where we have been, where we are now, and where we may be going. Neurographic work is stress- relieving and helps you work out your thoughts.

Every Tuesday. Doors open at 5 p.m. Public is welcome. Early Bird starts at 6:30 p.m. High Roller Black Out will pay $1,200 for 56 numbers. Progressive Black Out pays $350 for 52 numbers. If no one wins Progressive Black Out, $25 is added to the jackpot.

Talking Heads Discussion Group

The Talking Heads study and dialogue group will meet at 9 a.m. every Friday morning at Pittsburg Public Library. Using The Great Courses Series from The Teaching Company, participants watch a 30-minute DVD lecture followed by group discussion.

Southeast Kansas Recycling

The SEKR tunnel will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for drop-off of recyclables, to include cardboard, boxes/brown paper inside, aluminum cans, tin cans, #1 plastics, newsprint, white copy paper, textiles, and lead acid batteries. Fee is $10/car or become a member and get 1 free tunnel/month. Card or cash accepted. Sign up to volunteer, and you can bring recyclables at no charge. Ask for info at the tunnel.

Frontenac American Legion Breakfast

From 8:00 - 11:30 at 309 N Labette in Frontenac. Open to the Public with Free Will donation. Enjoy scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, cinnamon rolls, sticky buns, fruit and biscuits. Enjoy breakfast and say "Thank you" to a Veteran Every third Sunday of the month.

AFG: Mirror, Mirror on the Wall w/Brenda Hayes

10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $75 fee; ages 16+; 6 seats — Join Brenda to make a mosaic glass mirror. Mirrors will be pre-mounted on wood and you will cut glass and create your own design. If there is enough time, we will grout. If not, Brenda will take home to grout and bring the project back. Feel free to bring a snack or lunch. A microwave and toast oven are available.
