PITTSBURG, Kan. — For the second week in a row, the Crawford County Historical Museum has hosted over 200 kids and adults during their Wacky Wednesday summer program. This week’s theme was all about art.

Artistic Impressions by Angela gave kids removable tattoos while Sassy Paws provided some of their poodles as canvases for kids to draw on with washable ink. Kids were able to create some masterworks by blowing bubbles infused with food dye on to hanging pieces of paper. The museum also provided shade and cool refreshments for those who attended.

“We are blown away and truly thankful to everyone who came out for our first Wacky Wednesday of the summer!” said Museum Director Amanda Minton. “This would not have been possible without our hands-on demonstrators and Wacky Crew leaders. We are incredibly thankful to be an educational tool in our community and to create an incredible opportunity for over 200 kids every Wednesday.”

On Friday, Minton said the museum received a generous donation exclusively for Wacky Wednesday.

The museum still has more planned for the summer. Next week, Will Rogers expert Bart Taylor will be visiting, sharing stories and teaching kids how to make rope and do rope tricks. The museum will take a break over the Independence Day weekend but resume Wacky Wednesdays on July 12 through July 26.
