PITTSBURG, Kan. — The Pittsburg Ballet will be performing "Peter and the Wolf" at Pittsburg's Memorial Auditorium on Friday, May 12, at 7 p.m. and on Saturday, May 13, at 2:30 p.m.
Yana Feldman of Pittsburg Ballet described the performance as a symphonic folktale.
"Peter and the Wolf is a musical masterpiece by Sergei Prokofiev," Feldman said. "Each character is represented by an instrument."
According to Feldman, the entire ballet is narrated and easy to follow along for all ages; it introduces children to individual instruments of the orchestra as they follow the dancing characters.
Performers range from age 4 to adult.
Tickets are $20 for floor tickets, $12 for ages 12 and under; or $16 for balcony seats, $10 for ages 12 and under.
