PITTSBURG, Kan. — The Kansas Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA), the state board responsible for licensing and regulating doctors in Kansas, has lifted the license suspension of Dr. Jacqueline Youtsos, owner of ReNu Medical and Spa, as of June 8.
In December 2025, KSBHA issued an emergency temporary license suspension for Dr. Youtsos. The suspension stemmed from incidents relating to the death of a 67-year-old female patient on July 1, 2024, who went in for an elective procedure. According to the KSBHA Findings of Fact, the cause of death was lidocaine toxicity from anesthesia during the procedure.
On Feb. 20, 2026, KSBHA reaffirmed the order of suspension following a hearing with Youtsos and her counsel that took place at the end of January. The order stated that the death was “totally avoidable,” and that “Licensee and her clinic staff have insufficient knowledge, training, equipment or protocols in place to address adverse outcomes like that which occurred on June 25, 2024.” The order documents affirming the suspension can be viewed here .
The consent order, issued June 8, was a conclusion based on facts that both Youtsos and the KSBHA agreed to be true, according to the documents. By agreeing to the order, Youtsos acknowledged she violated Kansas Healing Arts Act and the patient’s death was preventable.
A 90-day suspension was ordered, but because her license had been suspended since Dec. 19, 2025, the KSBHA gave her credit for that time. To have the suspension lifted, Youtsos was ordered to complete “Medical Record Keeping” and “Ethics and Professionalism” courses and provide proof that she enrolled in a “Risk Management” course.
The KSBHA also mandated that Youtsos develop and implement revised policies, procedures and protocols addressing the Kansas Healing Arts Act violations. Youtsos will also be monitored by the Kansas Medical Society (KMS) for one year. The KMS will provide quarterly reports to the KSBHA. Annual audits will be conducted randomly on Youtsos for three years.
“I just want to say that I'm so grateful to have the matter resolved,” Youtsos told The Morning Sun. “I want to thank all my staff, my patients, and support of the medical community in Pittsburg and the surrounding communities that we go to. I am ready to resume delivering high-quality dermatology skincare and look forward to seeing everyone back in the office.”
All documents concerning this case are public record, which can be found at ksbha.ks.gov/. The consent order can be read by clicking here .
