Excerpted stories in Crawford County newspaper archives 100 Years Ago July 15-17, 1923 The largest crowd in Pittsburg’s history was on the streets last night to witness the Ku Klux Klan parade staged under auspices of the local organization. At least 1,000 marchers attired in robes of the order silently traversed the route from Fair Grounds Park south down Broadway to Forest street and back north via Locust and Joplin streets. Delegations were here from Tulsa, Coffeyville, Parsons, Independence and Topeka.
