50 years ago July 24, 1976 GIRARD - No action was taken Friday by the Crawford County Commission concerning a letter from Chuck Linn, chief of the solid waste management section of the Department of Health and Environment, about his inspection Tuesday of three potential sanitary landfill sites to serve the immediate Pittsburg area. Linn said in the letter there were no technical reasons why the any of the three sites could not be developed into satisfactory sanitary landfills.
