Norma “Ma” Lee Strahan, 100, of Pittsburg, KS died 2:43 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 19, 2026, at her home following an illness.

Norma was born May 14, 1926, in Columbus, KS, the daughter of Ernest Leroy and Theo May (Kitch) Napier.

Norma married Dean “Doc” Strahan in Columbus, KS in 1943; he preceded her in death on March 11, 1983.

Norma worked for the Columbus Advocate, Coffeyville Journal, Miami News Record and the Pittsburg Morning Sun for 21 years.

Survivors include her brother Jack Napier (Pearl), son in law Joe Gregory, 2 grandsons, 1 grand-daughter, 18 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by her son Dale, daughter Vickie, grandson Doug Strahan, parents, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

Graveside Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2026, at the Park Cemetery in Columbus, KS with Chaplain Steven Strahan officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for services. Informal visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS.
