Excerpted stories in Crawford County newspaper archives 100 Years Ago Dec. 8, 1923 County officers are investigating the striking of two pedestrians on the hard surface roads by speeding motor cars and are redoubling efforts to keep the roads safe for motor and pedestrian travel. The investigations followed injury of a Joplin man about a quarter of a mile south of Frontenac junction and a similar occurrence in Arma in which a schoolgirl was injured. Both motor cars left the accident scenes.
