NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Giants are waiving quarterback Tommy DeVito, according to a person familiar with the decision, ending the local fan favorite's time with the only NFL team he has been a part of in his career. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Tuesday because the move had not been announced. DeVito, an undrafted free agent and a northern New Jersey native who picked up the nickname “Tommy Cutlets,” was not expected to make the team after the signings of veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston and selection of Jaxson Dart in the first round of the draft.
