Frontenac baseball routed Humboldt 10-1 on Thursday night at Mike Falletti Field, improving to 10-3 on the season.
The Raiders scored two runs in the third, four in the fourth, two in the fifth and two more in the sixth, while Humboldt plated its only run in the fourth.
Kale Coomes earned the win for the Raiders and he allowed no runs on one hit with six strikeouts and two walks over the first three innings. Grant Nickle pitched two scoreless innings of relief and struck out four and walked one. Brogan Smith and Kle Stewart also pitched single innings for the Raiders.
Kane Mjelde led the Raiders' 13-hit attack with three and Brock Wiemers and Jake Wegner joined Mjelde in the multi-hit department with two each. Crew Lemert, Wegner, Mjelde and Gunner Horyna each doubled. Wiemers drove in three runs and Wiemers, Jaxon Varsolona and Mjelde each scored two runs.
On the basepaths, Frontenac tallied eight stolen bases with seven different players getting in on the base thievery. Wiemers finished with two and Wegner, Jake Murphy, Gage James, Mjelde, Coomes and Jack Spear each had a steal.
Frontenac returns to action Monday at Girard with the fate of the CNC League title at stake.
