The Pittsburg boys cross country squad finished third with 76 points Thursday in the Fort Scott Invitational, as Chanute ran away from the field with 40 points. Pittsburg sophomore Carter Bailey and senior Will Mendenhall paced the Purple Dragons in eighth and ninth place with Bailey finishing the race in 18:56 and Mendenhall in 19:05. Jaxx Erwin placed 15th in 19:36, Weston Howard 34th in 21:16 and Trent Toth 41st in 22:41.
