The St. Mary’s Colgan Panthers wore shoulder pads and helmets for the first time on the third day of practice Wednesday, meaning players were now able to participate in tackling drills. The Panthers held morning practice sessions their first two days but practiced after school on the third day since Wednesday marked the first day of classes for Colgan. Teams around the area have benefited from cooler temperatures their first three days, a trend soon to end as we head toward the start of the season.
