Bobby Nelson turned in Frontenac’s second pitching gem in as many days during a 2-0 victory over Fairhope in the 12-under Cal Ripken World Series at the Ballparks of America complex in Branson, Mo. One day after Bentley Edwards’ five-inning no-hitter against the Philippines, Nelson gave up three hits, struck out seven batters and walked four. Down 2-0, Fairhope got the tying runs on base with two one-out singles in the bottom of the sixth inning.
