Pittsburg girls basketball improved to 7-5 on the season and 3-2 in the Southeast Kansas League with a 47-39 win Tuesday night over rival and Class 4A sixth-ranked Fort Scott. In a game of runs, Pittsburg had the last and decisive one by outscoring Fort Scott 14-5 in the fourth quarter. The Purple Dragons went on a 9-0 run in the first and second quarters for a 16-9 lead, but then the Tigers scored 12 of the last 14 points of the first half for a 21-18 halftime lead.
