Although I believe that football is America’s most inclusive religion, I’ve come to consider that it’s soon to be overtaken by gun worship. The United States has a devotion to guns that speaks to idolatry. At times it’s overt, as in politicians posing with their entire family armed; or illustrations of saints holding assault rifles and guns draped by Rosaries.
