Last week, the Morning Sun reported on Governor Laura Kelly’s veto of a bill that would institute a flat income tax rate in Kansas of 5.15 percent for all Kansas taxpayers and asked for your responses. Below is a selection of those responses: The flat tax is regressive; the rich benefit from tax cuts while those in the lower income brackets pay a higher percentage of their income in taxes. This is the opposite of what will help households with income >200K per year.
