Later this month, on Feb. 23, the City of Pittsburg will host the “Spruce Up Pittsburg Community Conversation.” Prompted by Pittsburg Mayor Dr. Ron Seglie’s contention that Pittsburg is “atrociously messy,” the event will be a brainstorming session of sorts to come up with an action plan for cleaning up the city. “Spruce Up Pittsburg” promises to be a productive meeting that will have a positive impact. While there can be little doubt that there are some properties and parts of town that could use some cleaning, though, bigger problems with unsightly properties may lie outside the city limits.
