In his short time serving as Pittsburg mayor, Dr. Ron Seglie has already distinguished himself as an innovator. First, upon being sworn in last month, in a move that has arguably placed Pittsburg in the same league with the great empires and nation-states of Europe, he inaugurated what may or may not become a long-running local tradition when he coronated himself with a piece of cardboard headwear acquired from a local fast food eatery. It remains to be seen whether Seglie’s successors will choose to follow suit, but in any case his adoption of the ceremonial Burger King crown was certainly bold and unprecedented.
