Rene H. Roy 84, of Arma, KS, died 11:21 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2026, at his home following an illness.
Rene was born March 7, 1942, in Fitchburg, MA, the son of Joseph N. and Anna (Emel) Roy. Rene has lived in the Arma community since 1992. On April 30, 1965, Rene married Joann C. McGilvary; she preceded him in death on January 5, 2011. Rene worked as a truck-driver for Middleton Aerospace and later the City of Pittsburg for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Elks Lodge; he loved to cook, active outside; enjoyed barbecue; family; flowers and his Open Door Fellowship Church Family.
Survivors include his children, Randy Roy and wife Carol of Milton, FL; Michelle Camp and husband Howard of Arma, KS; and Darlene Claffey and husband Joseph of Arma, KS; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and partner for 12 years, Rosalie Teschner and family of Arma, KS.
Rene was preceded in death by his wife, parents and 12 brothers and sisters.
A Celebration of Life will be 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2026, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS, with Pastor Don Talent officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Family will receive friends from 5-6:00 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2026, at the funeral home prior to the service.
