Peggy Hunt, 72, of Franklin, KS, passed away on July 31, 2026, at her home in Franklin, Kansas.
Peggy was born on Feb. 22, 1954, to Clyde and Jessie May (Allred) O'Neal in Pittsburg, KS. She graduated from Southeast High School. On Nov. 4, 1972, she was united in marriage to Gary Hunt at the Weir Baptist Church in Weir, KS. He survives of the home.
Peggy worked for USD 250 as a paraprofessional. As a paraprofessional she was dedicated to the kids that she worked with. Peggy enjoyed camping, yard work, casino trips, watching her kids and grandkids activities. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Gary Hunt of Franklin, KS; three sons, Kevin Hunt of Mulberry, KS, Kenny Hunt (Deonna) of Pittsburg, KS, and Kyle Hunt of Mulberry, KS; two brothers, Patrick O'Neal of Neodesha, KS and George O'Neal (Thelma) of Wichita, KS; and seven grandchildren, Kyra Hunt, Kage Hunt, Cheyanne Hunt, Dakota Hunt, Drew White (Ali), Dylan White, Rachael White; and a great grandson, Kodi Jent.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mary Jordan and Alice Maxwell.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, at The Lodge, 2312 W 4th St. Pittsburg KS. Burial will take place at a later date in the Hosey Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Angels Among Us. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS.
