Leonard “Lenny” Boatman, 53 of rural Girard, passed away at 4:20 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, at his home in rural Girard.
Lenny was born Jan. 7, 1973, in Girard, a son of Curtis and Linda (Westhoff) Boatman.
He attended school in Girard and graduated from Girard High School.
Lenny, along with his father Curtis, owned and operated B&B Excavating.
He was a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church of Girard.
Lenny enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching his two sons play in numerous sporting activities.
Survivors include his parents, Curtis and Linda Boatman, four sons, Wade Boatman and his fiancé’ Brali Conard of Girard, Brody Boatman of Girard, Ethan Doherty of Denver, Colorado, Carter Doherty of Kansas City, Kansas, one daughter, Abigaille Dreyer and her husband Gilbert of Bronaugh, Missouri, and one grandchild, Eldon Dreyer, two brothers, Jason Boatman and his wife Tonya of Jennings, Oklahoma, and Aaron Boatman of Girard.
Lenny was preceded in death by his wife Anita on March 15, 2026.
Mass of Christian Burial for Leonard E. Boatman will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026 at the St. Michael Catholic Church in Girard with Fr. Daniel Vacca as celebrant, burial to follow in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Greenbush. Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026 from 6 till 8 p.m. at the St. Michael Hall. Friends are invited to call at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home after 2 p.m., Tuesday.
