Women's Health Fund deadline approaches

PITTSBURG, Kan. — Grant applications for the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas’ (CFSEK) Rita J. Bicknell Women’s Health Endowed Fund are due by Tuesday, Sept. 30, at midnight with thousands of dollars available in funding for those combatting poverty, lacking health care, or looking to improve women’s health education. Established in 2007, the Women’s Health Fund is available to non-profit organizations, with a mission to “improve the health and well-being of women by supporting education, increasing awareness and sharing quality of life opportunities to benefit all women.” Since its inception, the Women’s Health Fund has awarded more than $503,000 to projects across southeast Kansas. Past recipients include Angels Among Us, the Cherokee County Health Department, Fostering Connections, Safehouse Crisis Center Inc., Catholic Charities, Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States, the Wildcat Extension Foundation, and Special Olympics Kansas.
