PITTSBURG, Kan. — Community members have less than two weeks left to nominate a woman for the Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce’s Women of Distinction.

Each year, 12 women are chosen from nominations to be highlighted for their achievements and contributions to the community. The women are featured on a calendar and recognized with a video presentation during the annual She Means Business conference.

The nomination form includes listing the nominee’s awards or accomplishments, discussing her impact on the community and a description of why this woman should be highlighted. The deadline for nominations is Sept. 15.

“Women of Distinction is truly one of my favorite things we do at the Chamber,” Liz Kohlmeier said in a message. “There is something so special about taking the time to recognize women who are making a difference in our community, often in ways that don’t always get recognition they deserve. Every year, I’m reminded of just how many incredible, talented, compassionate and hardworking women we have right here in Pittsburg. It’s an honor to help shine a light on these women and give them the recognition they deserve.”
