ALTOONA, Kan. — After spending two weeks researching and writing about TSgt Willis Hall, I found myself conflicted on whether I should attend his homecoming and funeral as I was simply a stranger and wished not to intrude on such a private matter. But, as a Marine combat veteran, I figured I owed it to a fallen brother to pay my respects and welcome him home in my own way. I never intended to make this into an article.
