PITTSBURG, Kan. — The Lawsons, one, a Pittsburg State history professor, and the other, a retired Marine, have been collecting toys for Toys for Tots in Pittsburg since 2010. Working in partnership with the Salvation Army, the toys collected go to the S.A. Christmas Distribution. Last year, the Lawsons and the Salvation Army helped more than 1,100 southeast Kansas children.
