PITTSBURG, Kan. — The Pittsburg State University Theater Department will present “The Normal Heart” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23, and 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 23. The Normal Heart takes place in New York City between 1981 and 1984, when the HIV/AIDs epidemic first began, and follows a group of friends who become activists and advocates. The play was written by Larry Kramer, and it is said to be an autobiographical account of events he experienced as a gay writer and activist.
