PITTSBURG, Kan. — “I just want to say thank you,” said PSU President Steve Scott as he nears the end of his tenure. Dr. Scott went on to speak of the lasting partnership between the City of Pittsburg and Pittsburg State University, saying the city “has always been there for us.” Citing the new university building projects under his tenure, and the national sporting events that have come to the city — including a national track and field championship at the new Plaster Center indoor track — the city and PSU have had a mutually beneficial relationship. “We are the envy of a lot of communities and universities,” Scott said.
