After a rain-soaked torch run earlier, nearly 250 athletes and 150 student volunteers from 20 schools gathered at the Plaster Center on Tuesday for track and field events sponsored by Special Olympics Kansas. Competitions included a softball toss and the javelin. Tuesday’s events were reserved for kids while Wednesday will feature the adult athletes.
