PITTSBURG, Kan. — The Southeast Kansas Community Action Program (SEKCAP) will not be accepting applications for the Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) grant after 4 p.m., Friday, August 15. In a press release to The Morning Sun, SEKCAP Housing Director Craig Leabo said “due to unprecedented response, SEKCAP has received sufficient applications to meet the funding capacity for this grant year.” Any applications received before the deadline will be processed and SEKCAP will notify the public when the application process is reopened. The TBRA grant can provide rent for up to two years, and SEKCAP has received sufficient applications based on historical information to provide rental assistance for those that will be approved for and lease up on this program, according to Leabo.
