PITTSBURG, Kan. — In light of the current crisis in animal shelters, the SEK Humane Society and the Best Friends Animal Society, a non-profit organization which helps assist shelters and rescue groups across the nation, have joined together for an event created to encourage more people to adopt a pet from the shelter. The SEK Humane Society will be waiving all adoption fees on dogs and cats Friday, July 22, through Sunday, July 24, in order to free up space at the shelter and give animals the chance to go to loving homes. “The SEK Humane Society is currently at full capacity with almost 100 animals on site,” said SEK Humane Society Director Jasmine Kyle.
