PITTSBURG, Kan. — Arvest Bank in Pittsburg teamed up with The Salvation Army Friday afternoon to battle food insecurity. The event was part of the bank’s annual Arvest Million Meals campaign Food insecurity is a pressing issue for many Crawford County residents. According to Feeding America, the county has a food insecurity rate of 16.7 percent, which is higher than any other county in the southeast Kansas region and means that one in four children in the county have limited or uncertain access to adequate food.
