GIRARD, Kan. — When life hands you lemons, create a lemonade stand. That is what elementary and middle school kids in Girard are getting their hands into as the Wildcat Extension District as well as the Girard Area Chamber of Commerce’s E-Community program, and Network Kansas are helping teach young people entrepreneurship throughout the month of September. In its second year, the multi-week event is designed for area kids in fourth through sixth grade as a way to teach kids how to start, own, and operate their own business, which in this event’s case, is a lemonade stand.
