PITTSBURG, Kan. — While breast cancer awareness month is usually in October, the Mount Carmel Foundation believes awareness should be year-round. On Thursday, the foundation held its fundraiser Paint It All Pink at Ascension Via Christi to raise money for the cancer patients’ assistance fund. Mount Carmel Foundation Prersident Lori Ann Spachek and Executive Director Johnna Norton sold T-shirts, ferns and hanging flower baskets, and handed out goody bags with items like pink-themed candy, pink bracelets, pens, and pink lip balm.
