PITTSBURG, Kan. — Cox Communications recently awarded Fostering Connections, a nonprofit group that supports foster and adoptive families, a $7,000 grant for its Anchor Family program. The goal of the Anchor Family program is for foster children who are aging out of foster care and need extra support transitioning into adulthood. Founder and Executive Director Lacy Nickelson said the idea for the Anchor Family program sprung from the organization’s tean impact events.
