GIRARD, Kan. –– It was a quick session on Tuesday as the Crawford County Commission set an interview date for the first three candidates for the County Emergency Manager position. The position will become vacant after the current director, Rusty Akins, steps down to return to the Sheriff’s Office as the new jail administrator. The commission will convene at 8:30 a.m., January 10, and go immediately into executive session for 90 minutes for the first three interviews.
